Elis
Elis is a trans man who lives in Ceredigion, he was assigned female at birth but has always known that he is a man.
Elis faces many challenges as a trans man, he is often mis-gendered and discriminated against. Elis has been the victim of violence and harassment where he lives. He enjoys swimming but worries that he may be denied access to the changing facilities and toilets at the swimming pool.

Enid
Enid lives in Ceredigion and is 61. Enid was recently made redundant from her job as a secretary at a law firm that she had worked at for 25 years.
Enid is under the retirement age and is looking to re-join the workforce but has been experiencing ageism. Questions such as asking when she intends to retire and statements such as "we are looking for someone with more energy" have been made at interviews.
When we make policies we need to ensure that people like Enid know that they are valued, contributing, members of our community.
Emrys
Emrys is 70 and lives alone in a rural village. Emrys relies on public transport to access his nearest shops and services. He does not use the internet.
One of his closest friends has been diagnosed with dementia and Emrys visits him every Thursday. Emrys has started to worry about what may happen to him when he is older.

Cadi
Cadi has blurred vision in her left eye and is blind in her right eye. She has a lot of friends and knows her way around town quite well.
Her life becomes more difficult when there are changes to the built environment or to the services that she uses.

Cahil and Ciara
Cahil and Ciara are practising Muslims. They go to mosque on Fridays when they can and fast during Ramadan each Spring. Ciara goes to women only sports sessions on Tuesday evenings and Cahil has an allotment. They both speak good English but don’t read so well.

Elfed
Elfed uses a wheelchair to get around. He takes part in wheelchair rugby on a Tuesday evening and teaches in a local school.
Elfed struggles to safely travel down some of the streets in his local
town. Some streets are too narrow, some have a lot of clutter and
he finds that some cars will park up on the pavements blocking his
access.

Cefin and Ceri
Cefin and Ceri have recently gotten married. Since announcing that she was engaged Ceri has received comments about when she will be starting a family and "deserting" the company she works for. Cefin has been teased about being a kept man as Ceri is the main earner in the household.

Carys
Carys is currently pregnant and looking forward to welcoming a second child to her family.
When we create policies that affect the work place we need to make sure that Carys isn't negatively impacted due to her pregnancy. This could include not singling Carys out for redundancy because the team aren't sure that she will return to work after the birth of her child.
Caryl
Caryl is a practising Muslim who works as a teacher in one of our local schools.
Caryl eats Halal and prays regularly. Caryl has found it difficult to find time and space to pray in the school day.

Emma
Emma is 15. She worries about climate change and wants more action to protect the environment. She'd like to meet up with her friends more often but must rely on lifts from parents so they mainly socialise online.
Emma isn't sure what her options are when she finishes her GCSE's but she doesn’t think she’ll find something that suits her in Ceredigion.

Colin
Colin is 32. He's a delivery driver and lives in a rented flat. He left school with no qualifications and is attending evening classes to get a Maths and English GCSE, his aim is to qualify as a teacher.
He’d like to buy his own home but it’s difficult to save because most of his salary goes towards rent and bills.

Ed
Ed is 28. He has paused his career to bring up his daughters who are 2 and 7. He is welcomed at the school gates when he collects his daughter from school and has joined the PTA. He feels a bit uncomfortable when he takes his younger daughter to parent and toddler activities because he’s usually the only man.

Catrin
Catrin is a high achieving team manager. She experienced sexual harassment at her previous workplace and this sometimes makes her nervous when she uses public transport. Most of the managers above her are men, she's not sure if she wants to apply for promotion to join them.

Celyn
Celyn is currently serving in the Royal Air Force which means that she moves around a lot. Celyn is originally from Aberarth and still uses it as her home outside of the RAF.

Eqbal
Eqbal served with the British Army while they were stationed in Afghanistan. He moved to the UK recently under refugee status.
Eqbal is a veteran but is not sure what help he is entitled to as he is not a british national.

Emyr
Emyr is currently caring for his elderly mother who is suffering with dementia.
Emyr is struggling to juggle full time work with his mother's increasing needs. He needs more time off work than his colleagues, sometimes at short notice. He is concerned that his performance will affect his future prospects.

Ceinwen
Ceinwen is 32 and has recently being diagnosed with autism and ADHD.
Ceinwen prefers to be communicated with in a direct manner, avoiding flowery language. Ceinwen would like to use her recent diagnosis to have reasonable adjustments to her work environment to accommodate her sensory needs.

Cynon
Cynon is 8 and goes to a primary school in Ceredigion. He was born in Ceredigion, his parents moved here to work in the NHS.
Cynon really enjoys living in Ceredigion but sometimes feels a little bit left out. When he went to a recent carol concert some of his classmates singled him out for not knowing the traditional carols, he felt really upset and tried to remove himself from the situation.
